In a dark world, inspired by film noir and Japanese horror, a tap dancer plays an enigmatic installation of strobes and sensory soundscapes. A flood of optical illusions and alienating rhythms takes you on a surreal trip.

Tap Noir is the latest project by tap dancer / choreographer Janne Eraker (NO) and light and sound designer Jorg Schellekens (NL). They place the rhythm and vocabulary of tap in a context of exclusively stroboscopic light and electronic sound. The result is an evocative piece in a one of a kind shape.

Press

“…it feels as if someone is physically forcing my eyelids shut, and I lose control of my own body.
