With countless cameras he keeps an eye on the world above and records the comings and goings of people. He relentlessly searches for truth and lies, with only one desire: to capture life and feed on real happiness and real sadness. When the girl Eurydice appears on his screen, the monster in him awakens.

Eurydice is happy. She is young, beautiful and Orpheus loves her. They are children of the gods. With the world at their feet and a golden future ahead of them. Nothing to worry about. Until she suddenly disappears. Desperate, Orpheus goes in search of his love. A quest that takes him to the deepest depths of the city, where a confrontation with Dracula awaits him.

Metro is an age-old love story retold in a mash-up of theater, music, film, gaming and social media. A search for what life is worth.

Jorg @ Denzo · Nul Een Nul (Metro w/ Beppe Costa)

Credits

text: Roel Adam
director: Liesbeth Coltof
performers: Roel Adam, Nhung Dam, Sander Plukaard
music & performer: Beppe Costa
dramaturgy: Paulien Geerlings
assistent director: Katharina Hegge
film, scenography & light design: Guus van Geffen
set construction: Quirijn Smits
costume design: Carly Everaert
video & game design: Marcel Dolman
video & (live) sound design: Jorg Schellekens
sound: Willem Scheepstra

Première

27 September 2014, Theater Bellevue (Amsterdam, NL)

Toneelmakerij Sound design for a contemporary cross-over between Dracula and the myth of Orpheus.
