About<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Shakespeare at its best! ‘King Lear’ is considered by many to be the ultimate play by William Shakespeare. The opening scene is a textbook example of how to swiftly get a drama going. The old king wants to divide his kingdom among his three daughters and asks them how much they love him. The youngest daughter, whom he loves most, does not want to participate in this charade. The two older sisters flatter their father on command and get their share. The youngest is honest and gets nothing. She is also cursed and rejected. It is the prelude to an unprecedented power struggle, with all the injustice, betrayal, death and destruction that entails, leading to a heartbreaking conclusion.
